The Sacred Harp

This uniquely American form of church singing has clearly distinguishable roots in Wales of the 12th Century.

Sometimes known as "Shape Note" singing and also "Sol-Fa" singing, music notes are given 3 simple shapes, and a tune is learned using these phrases, Fa, Sol, La, and Mi.

Don't miss this wonderful singing experience at this years banquet.

Plant Cymaeg (Welsh Children)

This month we are announcing our

premier issue of a newsletter for children

related to the Welsh Society of St. Petersburg

and the Sun Coast. It is our hope to be

proactive in keeping the Welsh heritage

of our members families and friends up to

date on things of Wales and the Welsh.

We would be happy to hear your

suggestions for content and subject to be

presented in the childrens newsletter. We

are most interested in you taking

subscriptions for the new children’s

newsletter. What a nice Christmas gift that

would be! A birthday perhaps. Then watch

for the children to respond.

Also, a reminder, you may want to

consider a membership for your adult children.

imagine their ammusement to see your

picture in the monthly nesletter, and to

see what fun you are having in your retirement.
